The phone line for Upstate employees to schedule a COVID-19 test is experiencing high call volume and long wait times. To schedule a covid test, Upstate employees may email firstname.lastname@example.org.
COVID-19 vaccine study seeks volunteers
Upstate’s Institute for Global Health seeks healthy volunteers aged 18 to 85 to participate in a COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial. Parking and compensation will be included. For information, email email@example.com or call 315-464-9869.
Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Unit water bottle sale
The Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Unit is selling stainless steel water bottles with the Upstate logo for $15 each, cash only. To make a purchase, stop by the unit on the first floor of Upstate University Hospital. Proceeds support patients through a fund held at the Upstate Foundation. Epic upgrade is Aug. 8
A scheduled Epic system upgrade will take place Saturday, Aug. from 3 to 6 a.m. IMT Training will post role-specific resources on a designated webpage for Epic users. For a complete list of role-specific resources, visit https://www.upstate.edu/healthcare/epicupgr.php.
Easy for You is Aug. 11
Easy for You, Upstate’s tobacco treatment program, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room 7335B (West Wing) at Upstate University Hospital. Those with an Upstate ID are welcome to receive help quitting tobacco, chew, and vape. Free nicotine replacement therapy is available. Blood drive is Aug. 12
Upstate will host a Red Cross blood drive Aug. 12 from noon to 5 p.m. in the atrium of Setnor Academic Building. Upstate staff and students are welcome to make an appointment online at: www.upstate.edu/blood. Individuals unable to keep an appointment should email firstname.lastname@example.org. Precautions will be taken to protect donors.
Community Garden events are Aug. 12 and 13
Creating an Herb Garden will be held Aug. 12 at noon in the garden in front of the Campus Activities Building. Drying and Freezing Herbs for Healthy Flavor will be held Aug. 13 at noon at the garden.
Webinar on decreasing risk of Alzheimer’s disease is Aug. 17 and 18

University Internists is now accepting new primary care patients 18 years old and up. Most insurances are accepted, including the Empire plan. Upstate Family and Preventative Medicine adds new faculty; is accepting new patients
Upstate Family and Preventive Medicine is accepting new families, adults, adolescents and pediatric patients for primary care, including well visits, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic disease.
