Sleep Medicine
Sleep is a function of the brain and sleep disorders are a subspecialty of neurology called neurosomnology. Sleep disorders medicine is the broad term to encompass the clinical spectrum of sleep pathology that reaches internal medicine, pulmonology, psychiatry, otorhinolaryngology, and pediatrics.
The Sleep Center at our Upstate Community Campus, established in 1987, is fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and is affiliated with Upstate Medical University through the Sleep clinic at the University Health Care Center.
