Pediatric Neurology
The Pediatric Neurology division of the Department of Neurology at Upstate Medical University provides a wide range of clinical services and expertise in the neurological and developmental aspects of children's health.
Our special areas of clinical interest include neuro-genetics, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, neurocutaneous disorders (e.g. neurofibromatosis and tuberous sclerosis) and comprehensive neurological assessment. We are engaged in clinical research in the areas of epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, and neuro-genetics. Our team is composed of four board certified child neurologists and a child neurology nurse practitioner.We provide a comprehensive assessment of the neurological issues of children and work in close collaboration with our colleagues in pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric orthopedics, pediatric rehabilitation and other pediatric specialty areas. Consultative assistance is also available for younger children with refractory headaches and children with complex neurobehavioral disorders such as ADHD and the autistic spectrum.
