Here are some helpful tips for a successful clerkship:
- Behave and dress professionally
- Always wear your white coat (or scrubs if in surgery)
- Be active and get involved on the floors as a member of your clinical team
- Avoid using cell phones on rounds or when interacting with patients
- Be on time for all shifts, lectures, and examinations
- Ask questions and speak up
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Alert your clerkship coordinator or director to any problems or concerns
- Keep all food and beverages out of patient areas
