Welcome to the Nephrology Fellowship recruitment at Upstate Medical University. Our fellowship is fully accredited by the ACGME, allowing fellows to be board-eligible at the end of their academic pursuits.
The Nephrology Fellowship at Upstate Medical University is a two-year program that offers exceptional academic and research opportunities for medical graduates aspiring to specialize in the field of Nephrology. The program focuses on providing comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in renal medicine, preparing fellows for advanced career paths in both clinical and academic settings. The program also offers a variety of research opportunities where fellows can explore their personal interests in clinical investigation or basic science.
The Nephrology Fellowship puts a strong emphasis on full-spectrum development of the fellows through exposure to a diverse patient population, involvement in groundbreaking research, and participation in educational sessions. - For 2024-2025 there will be two positions available

Program Size: five
Program Length: two years
Application Process
All applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Deadline for completed applications is October 1st of the year preceding the program start date. Appointments for the Fellowship Program will be made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). All candidates must register through the NRMP.
The application requires the following information:
- Official Medical School Transcripts
- Official test transcripts for all applicable examinations (USMLE, LMCC, COMPLEX, NBOME, FMGEMS, FLEX or NBME)
- A curriculum vitae
- A personal statement
- A valid ECFMG certificate(if you graduated from medical school outside of the United States)
- A copy of your medical school diploma (if you have graduated from medical school
- Three letters of recommendation, including one from program director
