Student Profile:

I originally grew up in the Boston area before moving to upstate New York for college. I graduated from Cornell University in 2020, with a BS in Human Biology, Health, and Society. At Cornell, I conducted research on the function of RNA helicases during translation initiation under the mentorship of Shu-Bing Qian. Since coming to Upstate in 2021, I have developed a fascination for cancer biology and how dysregulation of signal transduction pathways leads to tumor growth, metastasis, and drug resistance. I chose to join the Kotula Lab to better study these processes in the progression of prostate cancer and find novel targets for cancer therapy. Outside of lab you can find me running through the local parks, learning to cook new recipes in my kitchen, exploring new restaurants with friends, and hiking trails around the Finger Lakes and beyond.
