Student Profile:
Prior to coming to Upstate, I graduated from the University of Vermont in 2020 with a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Biological Science. While at UVM, I conducted research in the fields of both microbiology and ecology and evolution, two fields which are combined in my interest in vector-borne diseases. I now work in Dr. Saravanan Thangamani’s lab, where I study tick-borne diseases with a focus on Powassan virus and Borrelia burgdorferi, the causative agent of Lyme disease. Outside of the lab I enjoy baking, finding new board games, and going on outdoor adventures with my dog.
