What medical school is like for women today
Elizabeth Blackwell, MD, the first woman in America to receive a medical degree, was born on Feb. 3, 1821. She graduated first in her class in 1849 from Geneva Medical College, a predecessor of Upstate Medical University, which is celebrating Blackwell's 200th birthday. For some perspective, two second-year medical students at Upstate discuss what medical school is like for women today. Neelima Dosakayala and Sruti Akula also talk about their career plans.
