What wellness means to someone with a chronic disease

Kaushal Nanavati, MD, refers to the fundamentals of wellness as the "Core Four." They include nutrition, physical exercise, stress management and spiritual wellness. Nanavati discusses these concepts and how they apply to someone with a chronic health condition, such as heart disease, diabetes or an autoimmune disorder. He is Upstate’s assistant dean of wellness, where he is also an assistant professor of family medicine and medical director of integrative therapy.
