A guest speaker at Upstate addresses health issues affecting transgender people. Kellan Baker is the Centennial Scholar in the department of health policy and management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He explains that transgender people may have trouble getting access to any sort of health care, and he discusses health-related issues that disproportionately affect transgender people, such as suicide attempts, social stigma and stress. Baker was visiting Upstate to deliver a lecture.
