Dyslexia: Learning disability or learning difference?
Dyslexia, which involves difficulty in reading, writing and spelling, can be overcome using different teaching methods, according to George Starr, MD, emeritus clinical associate professor of pediatrics at Upstate. Starr examines dyslexia's historical and genetic factors, notes the large number of dyslexics who lead successful lives and says it can be seen as a different way of learning rather than a disability.
