Tech Support

The Research Technology Core provides hardware and software support for a variety of devices and connected instruments. This includes Windows, MacOS and Linux. We coordinate with vendors to ensure compatibility between clients/instruments and our network security policies and standards. 

Dell is our standard PC manufacturer and on NYS Contract. Pricing information for standard PC models is available online.

Custom builds may be requested via a HEAT ticket; please contact the helpdesk at 315-464-4115 or helpdesk@upstate.edu.

Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)are utilized to manage and deploy software, operating system and security updates on PCs.

Quotes for Mac devices may be requested from the helpdesk.  Jamf is utilized to manage and deploy software, operating system and security updates on Macs.
