The Retention and Adherence Program (RAP)

RAP is a New York State AIDS Institute funded program designed to assist patients who have not achieved a suppressed viral load.

Patients eligible for RAP services:

  • Patients newly diagnosed with HIV
  • Patients beginning antiretroviral medications for the first time
  • Patients beginning a new medication regimen
  • Patients who struggle with adherence to their medications due to side effects or life events

Our team will work with the patients to identify any barriers that may affect adherence and decide on a plan of action to address those barriers and help the patient overcome and achieve suppression.

The team offers training and education geared to patient needs, one on one help from staff, case management assistance and helpful tools such as pill boxes, planners, etc.
