We recognize that being in the hospital may be a confusing and sometimes unsettling experience. Whether you're a patient or a visitor, we would like to make your stay at University Hospital as comfortable as possible. The Patient Relations Department at University Hospital personally responds to patient and family concerns and facilitates communication between patients, family members, and the patient's caregivers.

If an aspect of your hospital experience was exceptional

If you or a family member feel an aspect of your hospital experience was exceptional, or if a specific care member deserves recognition, please let us know. Thank a Caregiver and your kind words will be passed on to the right people.

Thank you for letting us know about your experience at University Hospital. Each day, we strive to provide the best possible care for our patients and their families.

If You Need Assistance

If you or a family member needs assistance during your hospitalization, please contact the Patient Relations Department at 315 464-5597 (4-5597 from a hospital phone).

In addition, you may voice any of your concerns to nurses, ambassadors, or any other hospital staff member. Our staff is available to assist patients, family members and friends with non-medical questions or concerns related to outpatient visits or hospital services.

We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding patient care and treatment of you or a loved one. If you are still dissatisfied, you may request a Grievance Committee review of your concerns. Following any Grievance Committee's review, a written response would then be sent to you containing the final determinations and findings of the Grievance Committee. You may also reach online Patient Relations.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (US.C 794) of the US Department of Health and Human Services regulations implementing the Rehabilitation Act, prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. If you have any concerns or questions regarding discrimination and/or a violation of the Rehabilitation Act please contact the Section 504 Coordinator in the Patient Relations Department at 315 464-5597
