The Division of Hospital Medicine recognizes how vital clinical research and improvement projects are to the mission and vision of the Department of Medicine and SUNY Upstate University Hospital. Our hospitalists are encouraged to pursue their interests in research and often times, are at the forefront of thought-provoking and innovative projects. They take advantage of enrichment outside of their clinical work; sharpening their critical thinking skills and objectifying their approach to clinical questions and analysis.
We believe it’s important to have a strong balance of personal and professional goals, and we support our hospitalists pursuing their interests. Research builds confidence and enables a higher level of learning. Working in the academic atmosphere, there is always an overabundance of research opportunities across the campuses to suit any and all interests.
