A look at sickle cell disease and how best to treat it

The Pediatric Sickle Cell Program at Upstate sees patients from birth to age 21 with any form of sickle cell disease. In this interview, two members of that team talk about the symptoms of sickle cell, its treatments and potential cures, and the importance of involving families in caring for the person who has the disease. The two team members are the director of the program, Kathryn Scott, MD, and child psychologist Jill Majeski, PsyD.
