National Preparedness Month is an effort to get everyone thinking about whether they are prepared for a natural disaster, a weather emergency or anything else that could disrupt everyday life. Bradley Marmon, the emergency management coordinator at Upstate Medical University, explains the most important aspects of making sure people and their families are ready for emergencies. Click here for a federal government website showing many of the prepardeness guidelines he discusses. Upstate's emergency management Web page also has information on dealing with a variety of emergencies.
