Open Repair Incision

An incision will be made in the abdomen (ventral) or groin. The hernia sac will be dissected and the tissue will be moved back into place. Your abdominal wall will be reconstructed and sewn together. Mesh may be used to help strengthen your abdominal wall.

The incision will be closed with stitches, surgical glue or staples.

Open Ventral Repair
A drain may be placed and/or a wound vac (Prevena) if needed. A bandage may be placed over the site. An abdominal binder may be placed over the incision to provide additional support.
