Overview

In the United States, over 5 million people suffer from problem, non-healing wounds. The etiology of these wounds may stem from diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, venous stasis or radiation induced wounds, among others. These wounds require specialized treatment. The SUNY Upstate Medical University Wound Care Center is a state-of-the-art facility staffed by specialty-trained wound care physicians and nurses and has a wide base support from multiple sub-specialty departments. Serving the greater Syracuse Area, the Wound Care Center is here to care for you. Our goal is to heal existing wounds, prevent recurring wounds, and provide education. Patients will be seen by our physician for an initial consultation and a treatment plan will be developed for ongoing care. The wound care physician continues to see the patient on a weekly basis until the wound has healed. Have your physician contact us at the number above to make a referral.
