With that goal in mind, I am frequently asking my patients, 'What is YOUR goal for our care?' or 'What is the number one thing I can do to make your urinary quality of life better?'. I try to provide education on all evaluation and management options so that an informed decision can be made by my patient based on his/her values, not mine. My goal is to form a cooperative relationship where we are both working toward improvement in quality of life. Frequently, we are discussing non-invasive approaches and when surgery is needed we are taking a minimally invasive course."
