About Our Press Ganey Survey
Upstate University Hospital measures patient satisfaction through a variety of surveys. For most of these we engage with Press Ganey, a national company that measures patient experience for hundreds of health care systems.
The patient surveys are sent following the visit to randomly selected patients. We receive thousands of returned surveys each year and the responses are used to directly improve the clinical experience. For the star ratings and comments, all feedback is presented as reported. Please note, however, that comments that risk the privacy of a patient, or is profane or libelous, will not be posted.
The comments and ratings are drawn from a series of questions. A sample of some of the questions asked in the survey are shown below. These are questions related to provider care that form the basis of the ratings shown here.
About Our Ratings
Departments at Upstate are now able to display patient satisfaction scores and comments. These are collected through a formal process and are posted in their entirety. If the physician has fewer than 30 surveys, the star rating is not generated.
