Study Title:

LCH-IV International Collaborative Treatment Protocol for Children and Adolescents with
Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis

What is the purpose of the study? (in Layman's terms, please describe the study)

In this LCH-IV study, researchers want to find out if prolonging the treatment even further (from 12 months to 24 months) and adding another drug called 6-mercaptopurine will be beneficial. The goals of this study are to find out if these changes will result in fewer patients having a relapse of their LCH, and fewer patients having long-term disease-related problems.
