Study Title:

Analysis of Existing Newborn Screening Specimens from Children Diagnosed with B Cell Immunodeficiencies or Lymphopenia

What is the purpose of the study? (in Layman's terms, please describe the study)

The purpose of this study is to verify the effectiveness of newborn screening for B-cell immunodeficiency (BID). The study uses newborn blood samples with known B-cell immunodeficiency or lymphopenia. The samples were collected at the time of your child’s birth. They were originally used to screen your newborn for other disorders. The results of this testing will help reduce the number of false positives (when a test shows a positive result, when in face the true result was negative) and to ensure that the test identifies all children with the condition.
