Employee Health
Employee Health promotes safety and protection of patients and personnel through effective assessment and surveillance of all individuals affiliating with Upstate Medical University Hospital, that may pose risk to the patients we serve. The scope of this assessment is extended to employees, contract personnel, volunteers and students.
Health Services include:
- Pre-employment assessment of health status and physical capability
- Determination of vaccination status and tuberculosis surveillance
- Annual re-assessment of health status
- Evaluation and management of known or suspected transmission of communicable disease between patients and staff

Employee Health Services, in accordance with State and Federal Laws, ensures the protection of all privileged health information received and maintained with confidentiality for those served by the department.
