Energy Conservation at Upstate

At Upstate the physical plant and facilities design teams focus on optimizing existing energy consuming systems and specifying and implementing new systems that are energy efficient. The work of these teams touches every building on the Downtown and Community campuses. All new buildings and major renovations are designed to LEED silver specifications.

Upstate Medical University will save $167,000 in energy costs every year and keep more than 1,250 tons of greenhouse gases from being emitted annually, thanks to energy efficiency projects funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Read more…
