Maria T. Wormald, BS/BA is the Team Leader for University Internists office.  Her role includes overseeing clerical operations and provider schedules. Maria brings 20+ years of Medical/Business Management experience. Maria has a BS/BA degree from Columbia College.   Maria has been with the practice since 2012.

University Internists History

University Internists at 550 Harrison St. opened in the Spring of 1986 with one physician, one RN and one clerical support staff member. By the Fall of 1986, it had quickly grown to three physicians with five exam rooms. Today, we have six physicians, one nurse practitioner, one physician assistant and 14 exam rooms. University Internists is PCMH accredited. 

University Internists is supported by a team leader, nurse manager and medical office staff that consists of two part-time social workers, PCMH Care Managers, Care Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, MOAs and clerical staff.  University Internists is a teaching site for residents and medical students.

Our scope of practice includes patients from 18 years of age through geriatrics. Some of our current patients have been with us since our doors opened in 1986. In addition to providing primary care, our physicians have additional training in osteoporosis, diabetes, coronary artery disease, COPD, hypertension, obesity, women's health and palliative care.  We currently are not accepting new patients.  Established patients, to make an appointment, please contact us at 315 464-6527.

Emergencies

A physician is available by phone 24 hours a day and is reached through our office number, 315-464-6527. When patients call after hours, their call will be transferred to the answering service who will relay the message to the on-call physician. The on-call physician will respond to the call as soon as possible.

Life-threatening emergencies: Patients should call 911 for an ambulance to transport them to the nearest hospital or emergency department.

Parking

Free parking is available in the adjacent lot.  Ticket will be validated at check-out.
