Emergencies
A physician is available by phone 24 hours a day and is reached through the main phone numbers. When patients call the appropriate phone number, their call will be transferred to the answering service who will relay the message to the on-call physician. The on-call physician or resident will respond to the call as soon as possible for further guidance.
Life-threatening emergencies: Patients should call 911 for an ambulance to transport them to the nearest hospital or emergency department.
Parking is available in adjacent lots for a nominal fee.

Lorraine Brissenden, Practice Administrator, has worked for the Department of Medicine for the past 37 years. Since 2004, she has been the Practice Administrator of the Division of Gastroenterology including an Ambulatory Surgery Center and an Outpatient GI Practice. While with the Department of Medicine she has also held the role of Manager of Special Projects and Manager of GI and Heme/Onc Satellite Practices. She also spent time managing a multispecialty clinic at University Hospital which included Gastroenterology and has experience working in both an Internal Medicine practice and in the Educational Programs office at University Hospital.
