A part of our effort is the preparation of an All Hazards Employee Preparedness Guidebook, entitled Caring is Preparing. The intention of this document is to assist our employees to better prepare their personal lives so that they can respond to University Hospital in the event of a disaster. This guidebook assists staff in addressing disaster plans in their households, including:

• Stockpiling key supplies and materials
• Elder care
• Pet care
• Creation of home disaster plans
• Pre-printed lists to document key contacts & emergency numbers

Caring is Preparing is distributed routinely to new staff and is available to all staff online.
