THIS COURSE IS FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS Information for Health Care Providers
To be a NYS Vaccinator, you must have a current BLS certification - this is the course for you.
This training takes place at EMSTAT (550 E. Genesee St). At the end of this class, you will know:
- When to start CPR
- How to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
- How to perform chest compressions on an adult, a child or an infant.
- How to breathe for a patient using a bag-valve-mask (BVM)
- How to relieve choking in a conscious or unconsious person.
When you complete this course, you will receive an AHA BLS Provider card which is valid for two years.
In order to attend this BLS class, you will be required to complete two parts.
- Part 1: Complete the AHA Blended Heartcode Online program
- Part 2: In-class hands-on skills session
Please contact EMSTAT AHA Programs at [email protected] for more information, schedules and fees. Once the fees are paid, we will provide a code and link to the BLS Heartcode Online system to complete Part 1 and to schedule Part 2.
