Training
Our Center is a proven training ground for young researchers and the track record of our faculty is strong. It takes a village to raise a doctoral student or research fellow, and CVR members embrace that village approach with enthusiasm. Whether it is informal meetings discussions, or formal meetings, our faculty are “hands-on” working with students throughout their studies.
The core of our training environment is our weekly group meeting, the Colloquium in Vision Research. These sessions are attended by all research PIs and their research staff. This shared experience provides a consistency of academic training and mentoring for all of the staff, the meeting is 60 to 90 minutes long, during which a student, postdoc or faculty presents a current work-in-progress for an in-depth discussion of ongoing experimental design and data analysis.
