Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) Application
CSTEP stands for the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program. CSTEP is a program sponsored and funded by the New York State Department of Education. It is an initiative that aids in the success of students in preparing for careers in the scientific, technical and health-related fields.
Requirements and Eligibility:
- New York State resident
- From a historically underrepresented background (African-American/Black/Hispanic/Latino/Native American)
Here is what CSTEP can offer students:
- 1 on 1 advising with CSTEP staff
- Workshop/professional development/networking opportunities
- Some financial support for academic resources
- Access to a lending library
- Conference experience
- Social events
- Study space
On the application, there are designated sections for new and returning applicants. If you were part of CSTEP at Upstate in prior year(s) but not this past academic year, then please fill out the application as a new applicant. We encourage both Syracuse and Binghamton campus students to apply.
Deadlines:
- Returning applicant priority deadline: Monday, May 8th, 2023 at 12pm
- New applicant priority deadline: Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at 3pm
