About the Program

The College of Nursing offers a post graduate advanced certificate program for Nurse Practitioners to achieve certification in an additional area of specialization.  The program is in hybrid format including online and face-to-face classes. Classes are either fully online through Brightspace or meet one evening per week if classroom based.  These programs prepare nurses for highly specialized career opportunities.

Expert faculty guide clinical learning under the preceptorship of experienced nurses, nurse practitioners and physicians in settings throughout Central New York. The College of Nursing has clinical contracts with more than 700 institutions and agencies.

The College will accommodate student's interests as long as the settings and preceptors meet the requirements of the post graduate advanced certificate program.

Although every effort is made to accommodate work and family schedules, applicants should enter the program when they have adequate time to fulfill the required clinical hours.
