Leadership Giving

The United Way recognizes Upstate employees who contribute $1,000 and above as Leadership Givers. Their names are listed in the United Way's annual "Leadership Giving Roster" sent to all members in the Fall.

Sarah Loguen Society

New this year, those who make a year-long pledge of $5,000 or more are members of the new Sarah Loguen Society. Dr. Loguen, 1876 graduate of our College of Medicine, was one of the nation’s first African American women physicians.  

Elizabeth Blackwell Society

Make a year-long pledge of $2,000 or more to become a  member of the Elizabeth Blackwell Society, named in honor of the 1849 graduate of Upstate’s College of Medicine and first woman MD.

Hamilton White Society

Make a year-long donation of $1,000 or more and the United Way will recognize you as a member of the Hamilton White Society. This leadership group is named in honor of Hamilton White, a 19th century philanthropist and community developer in Syracuse.

Your gift may be combined with a spouse/domestic partner to be eligible.

Leadership Engagement

Emerging Leaders

Join Emerging Leaders. It is a group of the United Way of CNY that promotes and encourages the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism among emerging leaders in the Central New York Community.

Women United

Join Upstate’s chapter of Women United. It is an affinity group of the United Way of CNY, which advocates, fundraises, volunteers and serves as a resource for those endeavoring to solve community issues and create opportunities that make it possible for everyone to thrive.
