Prerequisites: Radiation Therapy
SUNY Upstate is an upper-division transfer college specializing in health care careers. Students applying to our bachelor’s programs take the prerequisite courses (minimum 53 semester hours) at another college. Then, they complete their junior and senior years of the bachelor's degree at Upstate for their program of study. BPS students enter with an associate or bachelor's degree from another college.
Pre-admissions Requirements
Before applying, applicants are encouraged to review the prerequisite courses for their intended program of study. Pre-admissions requirements for the Radiation Therapy, BS/BPS program include:
- Prerequisite courses
- Minimum grade for transfer is a "C"
- BPS students must have:
- A bachelor or associate’s degree
- ARRT certification in radiography (X-ray)
Shadowing a Radiation Therapist
Shadowing a Radiation Therapist provides you with an excellent opportunity to learn from a practitioner about the field. Contact your local hospital or cancer center to set up a shadowing experience.
Prerequisite Courses
Applicants may apply without having all the prerequisites completed, but all the prerequisites must be completed by the time the program begins. Some courses may be met with CLEP or Excelsior Exam credit.

Requires: Associate's or bachelor's degree, registered medical radiographer (X-ray) and a minimum of 53 semester hours including:
