Curriculum

This rigorous twenty-seventh month begins with 15-months of classroom instruction and ends with 12-months of clinical rotations. The Physician Assistant program is 106 credit hours in total.

Clinical Year

Clinical will primarily be scheduled in various rural or medically underserved communities throughout Upstate New York. During these four-week clinical rotations*, students are responsible for acquiring housing, as well as the expenses associated with housing and other living expenses.

*Clinical rotations include the following disciplines: Family Medicine, Internal Medical Outpatient Setting, Internal Medicine Inpatient Setting, Behavioral Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Long Term Care / Chronic Care, and 2 elective rotations. The electives may include primary care, internal medicine - general or subspecialty setting, surgery - general or subspecialty setting, behavioral medicine, or emergency medicine.


Master's Capstone Project

In addition to eleven clinical rotations, students must complete a Master's Capstone Project. Students will then submit a CME Review Article based on their selected topic, followed by a poster presentation to colleagues, faculty, & staff.
