A technologist has a high level of patient contact where the use of interpersonal skills is critical. Radiographers work in a variety of healthcare settings. This may include hospitals, clinics, physician's offices, imaging centers, and industry. Avenues for career development include leadership roles as supervisors, administrators, educators, and researchers.
What Does a Radiographer Do?
Professional medical radiographers perform a variety of medical imaging techniques. Throughout the imaging process, a radiographer will:
- Adapt procedures to patient conditions and evaluate image quality
- Communicate with patients and demonstrate care skills
- Effectively position patients for optimal imaging
- Demonstrate ethical behavior and professional conduct
