Behavior Analysis Studies, MS: Apply Now

For Summer 2025 Admissions, applications are due:

Thank you for your interest in applying to SUNY Upstate’s Behavior Analysis Studies, MS program in the College of Health Professions.

Application Deadlines

Upstate operates on a rolling admission basis. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply well in advance of the application deadline.

  • September 1: Applications open
  • February 15: Priority review deadline
  • June 1: Final deadline

Pre-admissions Requirements

Before applying, applicants are encouraged to review the prerequisite courses for their intended program of study. The pre-admissions requirements for the Behavior Analysis Studies Program are as follows:

  • Baccalaureate Degree
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Completion of prerequisite courses

 


Application Process

Applications will remain open until the program and the alternate list fill. All applications will close on June 1 if the program hasn’t been filled by that date. We strongly recommend that applicants not wait too long to apply as interviews begin as early as January.

Step 1: Complete the SUNY Upstate application

Behavior Analysis Studies is a fall entry program. Applications open September 1.

Application - College of Health Professions

Applicants must submit the SUNY application and $65 application fee (paid to SUNY) within 7 days of submitting the College of Health Professions application.

Step 2: Letters of Recommendation

Three letters of recommendation are required.

We recommend that at least one letter is from a science faculty member, the others should be from someone who knows you in an academic, or professional capacity. Applicants will submit their reference information when filling out their application for admission. Upon submission of the application, the references will receive instructions on how to submit them through MyUpstate.

Step 4: Submit Official Transcripts

Applicants are required to submit official transcripts from every college attended or every college they have received credit from. If your college transcripts are not in English, or it is not in the same grading system as the United States, you will need to get a translation and a course-by-course educational credential evaluation completed by an approved agency.

Step 4 - Personal Statement

Applicants are required to upload a personal statement with their application.

Applicants are required to upload the résumé / curriculum vitae with their application.

Additional Application Information

  1. If English is not your first language, you must submit an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score report.
  2. Individual situations may require additional requirements. It is the responsibility of each student to confirm that a completed application is on file in the Office of Student Admissions.

What To Expect After Applying

After all required items are submitted, your application will be screened and your transfer credits will be evaluated. Qualified applicants will be contacted to set up a Zoom interview.

Decisions are sent out via e-mail. See the acceptance letter for the deadline to respond to the offer. Regular admissions applicants will pay a deposit to secure their place in the class. Early Assurance applicants will not submit a deposit to secure a place in the class at the time of acceptance but will submit a deposit when their acceptance is confirmed in January of the year of entry.

Upon Acceptance to the Program

Incoming students will be required to submit a background check after being offered admission, and prior to enrollment at SUNY Upstate. All admitted students are admitted conditionally until background check results are obtained and reviewed by SUNY Upstate.
