Alumni News Fall 2024

Department of Physical Therapy Alumni Reunion held October 11-13, 2024.

This year, the Department of Physical Therapy celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and over 50 years since the College of Health Professions awarded the first Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Alumni and former faculty gathered to share memories of their time at Upstate. Former department chairs, Pamela Gramet, PT, PhD, and Sue Miller, PT, DPT, MS, shared their memories via Zoom.

Alumni Association Spotlights

Alex Ashley Radiation Therapy class of 2010 Alex Ashley R.T. (R)(T), a 2010 graduate of the Radiation Therapy program, currently works as the quality improvement coordinator for Radiation Oncology Services at The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York NY. Last month, Ashley was a guest speaker in the Radiation Therapy Management course, where he was very well received by students and faculty. He recently published, "High dose gating protocol for deaf patients in radiation oncology,” in Radiation Therapist Vol 33, Issue 2. Ashley is active in NYSSRS and RTANYS. At the November 8th RTANYS meeting, he was sworn in as vice president for 2025. Congratulations on all your accomplishments!
