Alpha Eta Honor Society
About:
Alpha Eta Honor Society is the national honor society for the Allied Health Professions. It as established in 1973 to recognize scholarship in students in the allied health professions. Since then there are 93 recognized chapters with over 35,000 initiated members.
Membership:
Students about to enter the last year of their program who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 (Baccalaureate degree programs) or 3.8 (graduate degree programs), have demonstrated capacity for leadership and professional achievement, and been recommended by at least two program faculty are nominated by their program in May preceding their final academic year. If approved by the voting membership of the Upstate chapter, newly elected members will be inducted in the Fall semester of the last program year.
Benefits:
Honor Society members may wear cords at graduation distinguishing them as Alpha Eta Honor Society members. They may also be nominated for scholarship awards for research and professionalism.
