Consortium for Culture and Medicine

The Consortium for Culture and Medicine (CCM) is a cooperative interdisciplinary program of SUNY Upstate Medical University, and Syracuse University.

CCM is administered by co-directors from each of the schools.

Founded in 1978, CCM focuses on the cultural, ethical, and social dimensions of healthcare and public health by

• offering accredited courses linking the humanities and social sciences to the practice of medicine and healthcare, public health, and broader understandings of health
• sponsoring seminars and community events
• supporting interdisciplinary research
• supporting community-based research, education, and service
