Keynote Speaker
Adam G. Sowalsky, PhD
The Upstate Cancer Center is pleased to announce our keynote speaker, Adam G. Sowalsky, PhD from the Center for Cancer Research at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Sowalsky heads the Prostate Cancer Genetics Section laboratory and is a Senior Investigator in the Genitourinary Malignancies Branch. His lab conducts translational research focused on tumor evolution and treatment resistance, with a particular emphasis on developing biomarkers for predicting responses in locally advanced prostate cancers treated by neoadjuvant hormonal therapies. By using samples from NCI clinical trials as human model systems for analysis, these correlative studies enable assessment of mechanisms of treatment resistance and develop strategies for precision therapy.
