Before Your Baby Arrives
In addition to getting good prenatal care for you and your baby, there are other things you, and those closest to you, can do to prepare for your new arrival.
Your provider will recommend you and a support person participate in childbirth classes. Upstate offers these Best Beginning Childbirth and New Family Classes free of charge:
- Expectant Parent Program
- Hospital Orientation and Tour
- Newborn Care
- Breastfeeding
- My New Sibling (For 2 to 10 years old siblings in the family)
- Baby and Me and Breastfeeding Cafes
- Postpartum Breastfeeding Class

Preparing For Birth
In addition to prenatal care and childbirth classes, our labor and delivery nurses have years of experience when it comes to helping moms prepare for their new arrival. They offer some of their favorite advice to moms preparing to welcome a new baby.
