About Academic Affairs
The Office of Academic Affairs at SUNY Upstate works collaboratively with leadership, faculty, and staff to support the educational component of the university's mission. We are dedicated to academic excellence and to a collaborative, diverse, and supportive learning environment for all.
Overseen by the Vice President for University Academic Affairs, this office is responsible for a wide range of strategic initiatives which advance our educational offerings and support faculty to help our students achieve their goals.
The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for:
- Supporting SUNY Upstate’s accreditation and strategic educational planning
- Supporting educational program development and change, and the approval process through SUNY and the New York Office of Education
- Overseeing academic policy development and revision
- Measuring student learning outcomes and evaluating educational programs
- Coordinating SUNY honorary degrees and faculty awards
- Oversight of the University Simulation & Clinical Skills Centers, and Microcredentials
