The Naomi Chernoff, MD Creativity Conference
The Theater The Clinic - Parallels and Reverberations
The Naomi Chernoff, M.D. Creativity Conference is aimed at continuing the dialogue that began at our first conference in May 2007; a dialogue aimed at re-energizing and supporting the inner intelligence of mental health practitioners of all disciplines, medical and non-medical. The daylong seminar will develop the ground for more open and in-depth conversations about the humanistic and artistic components of psychotherapy. This year we will specifically focus on how plays (as in “the play’s the thing”) represent and inform our awareness of human experience. Naturally, these awarenesses have a profound relation to how humans perceive themselves and the other selves. The realm of relationships to one another and to reality are often excluded from or overlooked in conventional medical practices, but are critical issues in Psychiatry.
