Suicide in the Elderly: Why we need to be concerned

Suicide rates continue to be high among older adults. With the aging of the U.S. population, geriatric suicide is an urgent public health issue of concern for all physicians. This talk will address the epidemiology of suicide in older people and will discuss factors that increase risk for suicide among older adults as well as strategies for suicide prevention.
