 This presentation will 
 review recent genomic discoveries in psychiatry 
 with a particular focus on their implications 
 for diagnosis and treatment.  Methods such 
 as sequencing, genome-wide association scanning, 
 and transcriptomic analysis will be introduced, 
 along with the results from such studies 
 of developmental disorders such as ADHD 
 and autism as well as major psychotic disorders 
 such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. 
  The process and pragmatics of translating 
 such discoveries into useful diagnostic and 
 prognostic tools for clinical practice will also 
 be discussed.  \n
