The program is fully accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and draws upon the resources of our academic medical center including a teaching hospital, medical school and research enterprise. During consultations, residents document their assessments and recommendations with the assistance of experienced faculty. Many of our graduates go on to pursue post-graduate specialty and fellowship training or clinical and academic teaching positions. Pediatric Pharmacy Specialty ResidencyBeginning in July 2008, a Pediatric Pharmacy Specialty Residency will be offered to candidates who seek to gain intensive experience in pediatric pharmacy practice. The ideal candidate will have completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency and demonstrate a strong interest and aptitude in pediatric pharmacy practice. In addition to other longitudinal activities, the resident will actively contribute to planning and preparation for the opening of the Golisano Children's Hospital - the focal point of a major vertical expansion at University Hospital - that is scheduled to open in 2009.
