Purpose

Responsible for oversight, direction, and implementation of nursing department quality, education, research, recruitment, retention and patient care processes.

Chief Nursing Officer
Chair from each Specialty Nursing Governance Team
Chair from Special Interest Groups
Administrative Supervisor Representative
Dean, College of Nursing

Goals and Outcomes:

To promote the delivery of quality patient care based on best practice and evidence based data, focusing on what is best for the patient and family.
Promotes consistency of nursing standards and policy/procedure implementation across nursing practice areas.
Foster learning and stimulate professional growth and knowledge of nursing department staff.
Promote development of and an active and integrated nursing research program.
Promote continuous improvement of patient care outcomes.
Promote innovation and cost effectiveness.
Promote and reinforce patient safety goal implementation.
Promote an environment that recruits high level professionals and retains our current workforce.
