Shared Governance Philosophy:

A collaborative decision making process in which nursing staff participate with the utmost integrity in decisions that affect the clinical practice of nursing, standards of practice and patient care.

The Department of Nursing commits to shared governance as the mechanism for creating an environment which encourages continuous innovation, ongoing learning and a commitment to excellence which focuses on what is best for the family and patient. We uphold the following basic tenets of shared governance:
