Support Services

Once a diagnosis of breast cancer has been made, a referral to an experienced psychologist who has a special interest in breast cancer is available to help a patient during this difficult time.

A certified social worker is a member of the Numann Breast & Endocrine Surgery Center team, offering support, counseling, and assistance with the non-medical aspects of care.

Specially trained volunteers, most of whom are breast cancer survivors, donate their time to the Numann Breast & Endocrine Surgery Center. They offer reassurance and advice to patients based on personal experience. They also assist staff by putting together patient education materials and helping in many other ways.

Some patients find it helpful to participate in support groups such as the American Cancer Society's Reach to Recovery  and Susan B. Komen Foundation  programs.
